Univision launched the Culture Unbound campaign to introduce the cultural capital that it can deliver to its business partners as they navigate a fast-moving and fast-changing world. Culture goes beyond food, music, dance, art, and all the vibrancy that Univision embodies. It’s passion, principles, and a way of life. Culture adds value—to us, and everyone around us. Culture is deep and inclusive and beautiful. It spans from workplace culture to salsa culture, from family dynamics to friend groups. It stretches from English to Spanish and everywhere in between. We were tasked to synthesizing that spirit into a visual identity—complete with a logo and design system that could flex across multiple formats and media.
THE BORDER & THE BOUNDARY
A border denotes a limit, the edge of something. The CULTURE UNBOUND Border, however, is unfinished. It only occupies three sides of the canvas, alluding to unrestricted expansion. Surrounded by the border, a boundary marks the limits of an area. The CULTURE UNBOUND Boundary always extends to the edge of the canvas on one side; it suggets a boundlessness. ee sides of the canvas, alluding to unrestricted expansion. It can be moved around on the canvas at the designer’s discretion to suite messaging and layout needs.
